Aircon Relocation in Singapore

Relocating an aircon unit involves refrigerant recovery, disconnection, and rerouting piping and electrical. The scope depends on how far the unit moves and whether existing piping can be reused.

What Is Aircon Relocation

Relocation means recovering the refrigerant, disconnecting the unit, rerouting piping and electrical to the new position, and recommissioning the system. It is different from a new installation because the existing unit is reused — but scope varies significantly based on how far the unit moves and whether the existing piping is in good enough condition to extend or reuse.

  • Indoor unit relocation

Moving the indoor unit to a new wall position. The pipe run is extended or rerouted, drainage is replumbed to the correct slope, and the unit is remounted and tested at the new location.

  • Outdoor unit relocation

Moving the condenser to a different bracket, ledge, or wall face. Involves rerouting refrigerant lines, repositioning the bracket, reconnecting electrical, and verifying drainage.

  • Cross-property move

Decommissioning the unit at the old property and completing a fresh install at the new one. Treated as two separate scheduled visits — we handle both ends.

How We Scope It

We assess before we quote. The process runs in four stages.

  1. 01

    Describe the move

Tell us what is being relocated — indoor, outdoor, or both. Include your property type, any renovation timeline, and photos if available.

  2. 02

    Site assessment

We visit to check distances, wall types, pipe condition, electrical capacity, and access constraints. For renovation work, we coordinate with your contractor on timing.

  3. 03

    Quote and schedule

You receive a detailed quote covering labour, materials, and timeline. Work begins only after approval — no additions mid-job.

  4. 04

    Execution

We recover refrigerant, disconnect, reroute, recommission, and test the unit at the new position before we leave.

What to Expect

How we approach relocation jobs.

  • Pipe reusability assessed on-site

we check condition, diameter, and compatibility before recommending replacement or reuse.

  • Full scope quoted before work starts

labour, materials, and reinstatement priced upfront, no additions mid-job.

  • Renovation timeline coordinated

we work with your contractor so pipe runs go in at the right stage.

  • Unit tested at new position

cooling, drainage, and airflow verified before we leave.

When to Book

Book a relocation when the unit position needs to change, not just the pipe run.

  • Indoor unit moving to a new wall position

    renovation layout change or preference.

  • Outdoor unit moving to a different bracket, ledge, or wall face.

  • Renovation requiring pipe reroute

wall removed, layout changed, or aircon ledge repositioned.

  • Moving to a new property and taking the unit with you

    cross-property decommission and reinstall.

  • Previous contractor left the unit in the wrong position

    correction and proper commissioning.

When Not the Right Call

Relocation is not always the answer. Check these before booking.

  • Unit is faulty and needs repair

fix the fault before deciding whether to relocate.

  • You want a new unit at a new position

that is a new installation, not a relocation.

  • Unit is over 8 years old

relocation cost may approach new installation; worth comparing before committing.

  • Minor piping adjustment only

if only the pipe run needs extending without moving the unit, book piping & trunking instead.
