A cooling room feels like a safe bet for any pet, but heat tolerance is not equal across species. A flat-faced dog or an older, overweight cat has far less margin than a healthy one. That margin shrinks fast once the aircon trips or switches off for the day.

Setting the aircon up for the pet you actually have

A single household rule does not fit every pet in the home. A family with a young, healthy dog and an elderly, overweight cat cannot run both animals on the same electricity-saving logic.
