novita aircon warranty: three years on the compressor
novita's aircon range is portable only, with no split systems in it, and the cover splits in two. The compressor carries 36 months. Every other part carries 12. The website prints neither figure, so the manual in the carton is the document that governs your unit.

The website never prints the number
novita's online warranty terms state no length at all. They say the warranty is valid for the period stated in the operation instruction or invoice, and that the clock starts on the original purchase date. The document that governs your unit shipped inside the carton.
The operating instructions do print it. For the NAC12000UV-i, novita's limited warranty runs 36 months on the compressor and 12 months on all parts, both running from the original purchase date. The same clause says the cover does not include installation, removal or reinstallation.
The older NAC12000 manual prints the identical split. Thirty-six months on the compressor, twelve on all parts, from original purchase. Two product generations apart, those two periods held steady while several terms around them moved.
Shop listings are where the figure gets mangled. One Singapore retail page for the NAC12000UV-i shows a flat one-year warranty with no compressor term at all. Another shows a year on parts alongside five years on the compressor. Neither matches novita's own manual, and the manual is what a service counter reads.

The registration window moved between generations
The older NAC12000 manual gives seven days to register. The current NAC12000UV-i manual gives fourteen, and novita's website terms also say fourteen. An owner with an older unit who checked the website would have missed the real deadline by a week.
Both versions count from the date of purchase. Not the delivery date, not the day the unit first cools a room. Both point at the same place, novita.com.sg/ewarranty, and both make registration a condition of eligibility rather than a courtesy.
Twelve months is the number that will bite
The 36-month figure protects one component. Every other part carries twelve months, and that includes the fan, the control panel and the built-in UV-C LED the current models are sold on. Most faults an owner meets in years two and three land on the wrong side of that line.
Consumables never had cover. The terms exclude consumable parts and accessories exhausted through usage, and separately exclude parts that need replacing through ordinary wear, corrosion or staining. Filters sit there. So does cosmetic damage, which the manual spells out as cracks, dents and scratches on the exterior casing.
novita caps its exposure in the same document. In no event shall any recovery against novita exceed the actual price paid for the product. On a portable bought during a sale, that ceiling sits lower than most owners assume, and it is a sensible ceiling to borrow when deciding how much to spend chasing a fault.
One line in the fine print matters around month eleven. Replacement parts and products assume the remaining original limited warranty. A part fitted under a claim does not start a fresh clock, it inherits whatever is left of the old one.
A rented flat and a commercial floor read differently
The manual excludes defects resulting from excessive use outside the intended purpose. It names non-stop use in a commercial environment. It also names products that are leased or rented, and use that is continuous or beyond normal limits.
The edge cases are unwritten. A landlord who supplies a portable with a tenancy is neither clearly inside the clause nor clearly outside it. Put the question to novita in writing before relying on the cover, because the answer is free before a fault and expensive after one.
Nothing gets fixed in your flat
novita runs carry-in cover and says so in plain words. No outdoor servicing will be provided. Any product to be repaired must be sent to the service centre directly, and the purchaser is fully responsible for the delivery and the subsequent collection.
The service centre sits at 8 Tagore Drive, open Monday to Friday, closed for lunch between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, shutting at 5pm. A 24/7 drop-and-pick arrangement runs alongside those hours. That solves the handover, not the trip.
Moving the unit is charged if you do not move it yourself. The website terms put collection and return at S$40. The current manual quotes S$20 one way and S$40 both ways. The older manual quoted S$18 and S$36. Confirm which figure applies before booking, not after.
Those hours are also the hours a claim gets worked on. The manual says the standard carry-in cover runs during normal business hours, local holidays excluded, and can be performed by novita or by an appointed novita service provider. It also warns that a service charge is levied where the fault turns out to sit in the excluded list.
Transit damage lands on the owner in both directions. Improper transportation appears in the exclusion list, and the same document makes you responsible for delivery. A unit knocked about on the way to Tagore Drive can arrive as an uncovered unit.
Move it upright. The manual instructs transporting the unit vertically, and says a unit carried on its side should be stood up and left unplugged for six hours before use. Photograph the casing before it leaves the flat, because cosmetic damage is excluded and the condition on the day is worth recording somewhere.
The loan set is the clause worth knowing
novita publishes a customer service guarantee alongside the warranty terms, and it answers what the warranty clauses never address. A temporary loan set is offered at no charge while a product is in for servicing or repair.
Two conditions attach. The loan set is on request rather than automatic, and it depends on availability. The manual also warns the loan unit may be a different model from the one you brought in.
The same page sets a turnaround promise of up to seven working days, and a free assessment by a qualified technician with charges applying only where technical parts are replaced. Ask for the loan set at the counter when you hand the unit over, not after a week of sleeping in the heat.
One wrong filter voids the lot
The wording targets the warranty, not the part. novita states the limited warranty is invalidated and rendered void upon the usage of any non-original filters, parts or accessories, or any unauthorised servicing not approved by novita. A second clause voids cover where an unauthorised filter, component or part is fitted, or any form of modification is performed.
Filters are where owners trip. They are the one item swapped without a thought for paperwork, and generic replacements are easy to find. novita lists its own electrostatic filter for these air conditioners at S$24, which is small money against the cover it keeps alive.
The same logic governs repairs. Unauthorised product alteration, modification or repair sits in the exclusion list, and unauthorised servicing is named in the void clause itself. A general repair shop opening the casing during year one puts the 36-month compressor term at risk along with everything else.
How far novita presses that clause in practice is not written down anywhere. The terms state the outcome and do not tie it to related faults. Plan against the literal wording, because the literal wording is what you would be arguing against.
After the cover runs out the sums invert
With no warranty left to void, a third-party filter costs nothing beyond its own quality. Consumables were excluded from cover the whole way through, so nothing else changes when the term ends.
The compressor shifts that date though. Parts cover closes at twelve months, while the compressor term runs to thirty-six. Fitting a non-original filter in month eighteen is still a live risk against the only period still standing.
Paying to move the first year onsite
novita sells two paid options, and the manual prices both for the NAC12000UV-i. Converting the first twelve months to onsite service costs S$120 per unit. Adding a further twelve months of carry-in cover costs S$150 per unit. Both have to be bought inside the standard one-year term.
Neither one reaches the compressor. The manual states that the onsite conversion and the carry-in extension both apply to all other parts excluding compressor. Neither is available for the compressor in year four, once the standard 36-month term has expired. The paid options stretch the parts cover and nothing beyond it.
Buying the onsite conversion changes who travels, not what gets billed. novita provides onsite service during normal business hours, holidays excluded, performed either by novita or an appointed novita service provider. A service-transportation charge of S$30 per trip applies where the breakdown did not result from standard product usage.
The two documents do not describe the same scope. The website's extended terms cover all parts excluding replaceable filters, with no mention of the compressor at all. The model manual excludes the compressor outright. For an aircon, the manual is the model-specific document, and it is the safer assumption to plan against.
The commencement rule catches buyers out. Cover runs from the date of product purchase or installation, whatever date the extension itself was bought. Paying in month eleven does not buy twelve fresh months starting in month eleven.
Registration gates the paid cover as well as the free cover. The extended terms require that the standard one-year e-warranty application was submitted first. Miss the registration window and both doors shut together, which is the strongest argument for registering on day one.
The store and the manual are out of step on where to buy. novita's website carries a single aircon extension listing, and it names the older NAC12000, NAC14000, NAC12000UV and NAC14000UV. It is live and offers the onsite conversion at S$120, the added carry-in year at S$150, or both together at S$270. The manual for the current models points at estore.novita.com.sg/nac-services, which does not resolve to a listing. Ask before assuming the option is still sold for your unit.
Cover stops with the first owner
The manual settles transferability in one line. This limited warranty is not transferable and shall not extend to anyone other than the original purchaser or user. A second-hand novita portable carries nothing, whatever time appears to remain.
The same clause adds that the warranty does not include cleaning of the product. Routine maintenance is the owner's cost from the first day, and the manual sets out the pre-filter cleaning it expects you to keep up.
