Paseco aircon warranty: one year, then labour is yours
Paseco aircon sold in Singapore carries a distributor warranty from ACL Impex, not a brand one. The headline is one year. The compressor line runs longer, and the distributor publishes that line two different ways on two of its own pages.

Two ACL Impex pages, two compressor sentences
ACL Impex distributes Paseco in Singapore, and the Paseco Singapore web address now redirects to the ACL Impex Paseco page. That makes the distributor's document the one that applies. Its warranty terms give coverage for one year from the date of purchase on labour and parts. That single line governs almost every fault an owner will actually meet.
The compressor sentence is where the site disagrees with itself. The warranty terms page gives five years on the portable air conditioner compressor, and writes the compressor workmanship fee out of that cover. The product manual page states the same one year from purchase, then says transportation and labour fee are chargeable from the 2nd to the 5th year for replacement of an air conditioner compressor. One sentence carries the word portable. The other does not.
Both versions land an owner in the same place on money. Under the terms page, the workmanship on a compressor swap is billed to you. Under the manual page, transportation and labour are billed to you from year two onward. Whichever sentence governs, the long compressor number never pays to have the new part fitted.
What the two versions do not settle is whether a casement Paseco reaches the long period at all. ACL Impex lists one Paseco product here, the PWA-3300W, and describes it as a casement air conditioner. The portable air conditioners in its catalogue are TCL models. Its own warranty registration form keeps casement air conditioner and portable air conditioner as separate product types, so the distinction is live inside the distributor's systems.
Why the wording gap matters on a casement unit
Neither page states which text governs, and the same terms hand ACL Impex final say on interpretation. Ask before the money moves, not after the compressor stops. Send the model number and ask ACL Impex to state in writing the compressor period for a PWA-3300W, and what is chargeable in years two to five. The terms publish info@acli.com.sg and a service telephone number for exactly this kind of enquiry.
File the reply beside the invoice. A dated email naming your model is worth more than a figure printed on a shop listing. Retailer pages quote warranty figures for this unit, and those are the seller's words rather than the distributor's. The distributor is the party that assesses the claim.
Registration closes ten days after purchase
The terms ask the owner to send in the warranty card, or complete the online application, within ten days of purchase. The stated consequence of missing that window is delay and inconvenience to the owner of the product. It is not written as loss of cover, which is softer than most brands sold here.
Treat it as a hard deadline anyway. A distributor reconstructing your purchase from nothing works slower, and the same document lets the company decide interpretation. The terms also make the warranty valid only if the date of purchase is consistent with the official receipt or invoice, so the paperwork carries the claim regardless.
The online form sits openly on the warranty registration page, and it asks for more than most. Owner's name, email, daytime and mobile numbers, and the installation address down to the postal code. Then brand, product type, model number, serial number, purchase date, invoice number, and the shop you bought from.
The form heads that block with a plain instruction: information must be the same as the invoice record. Copy the fields off the invoice rather than typing them from memory. A transposed digit in a serial number sits quietly in the record until the day somebody compares it against the unit.
One clause here carries forfeiture rather than exclusion. The warranty is automatically forfeited if the invoice is altered in any way. Check the model, date, name and amount before you accept the invoice. If a detail is wrong, have the seller correct and reissue it at the counter, because a change pencilled in afterwards still reads as an alteration.
Photograph the plate before the unit goes in
Read the model and serial numbers off the carton and off the unit on delivery day. A casement Paseco sits inside a window or wall opening once fitted, and the label becomes awkward to reach. Photograph both numbers while the box is still open on the floor.
The terms put that check on the owner, not on the distributor. They ask you to confirm that the model and serial number on the registration record match the ones on your product. Nobody at ACL Impex performs that comparison for you when the form is submitted.
The ten days runs from purchase, and the terms name no other start date. Delivery and installation are not mentioned as triggers anywhere in the document. A Paseco bought at renovation stage can pass the window while still in its carton, which is the usual pattern for buyers who settle at the showroom and collect at handover.
Fouling turns a live warranty into a quotation
The clause most likely to decide a Paseco claim concerns dirt. Where the cause of damage arises from dirt or residuals, the terms say charges will apply. On an aircon that reaches a large share of real failures, because fouling is what these machines collect over time.
A blocked drain, a choked filter and a fouled coil all present as a breakdown from inside the room. Water marking the wall below the unit, cooling that fades through the afternoon, a machine that cuts out and restarts by itself. Trace any of those back to buildup and the repair is chargeable, whatever date sits on the invoice.
The damage exclusions run wider than dirt alone. Accident, misuse, inappropriate power input, outdoor use, owner neglect and liquid immersion are all named, and the same sentence names outer cover and parts breakage. Warranty service separately excludes the cabinets and the exterior casing, so cosmetic damage sits outside cover from the first day.
One clause voids the whole warranty rather than carving out a part. A product disassembled, converted or repaired by any person who is not authorised personnel loses cover automatically, and the repair service charge and parts costs then apply. That turns the choice of who opens the unit into a cover decision rather than a price decision.

Cleaning receipts are the cheap protection here
Ask for the cause in writing before any work starts. If the technician names fouling or a blocked drain, there is no claim to bring and the quotation is an ordinary repair quotation. If a component failed on its own inside the first year, the claim is the reason for the visit.
Dated cleaning records move that conversation from opinion to evidence. Keep the invoice for every wash, and have it name the unit and describe what was done. Against a dirt exclusion that never expires, a folder of ordinary receipts is the cheapest thing an owner can hold.
How the distributor sorts a service request
ACL Impex takes repair requests through a form on its repair and support page, and the form shows how a request gets read. It asks the owner to pick a warranty status: within one year of new set warranty, or over one year of new set warranty. Cover is sorted into that binary before anyone looks at the fault itself.
The form carries one warning worth reading twice. Incomplete information may be treated as an over warranty case. Leave the invoice number or the serial number blank and the request can be handled as though the unit were out of cover, whatever its real age.
So fill every field and attach the paperwork. The form takes PDF, JPEG and PNG uploads up to ten megabytes, which is room for a photo of the invoice and a photo of the rating plate. Send both with the first message instead of waiting to be asked for them.
The subject list on that form shows what the service desk sees most often. Display on screen, water leaking or dripping, temperature, noise, remote control, timer, power supply, and dirt or cleaning requests. A separate subject exists for requesting a quotation, which is the route for work that sat outside cover from the start.
What the Paseco terms never mention
Transferability is absent from the document. The terms neither grant it nor refuse it, though registration ties the record to an invoice, a serial number and an installation address. Anyone buying a resale flat with a Paseco already in the window should put the question to ACL Impex rather than assume an answer either way.
No servicing schedule is written in. The terms name no interval and no frequency, they attach no maintenance condition to the cover, and they never say who is allowed to clean the unit. What they do restrict is who may open the unit, so a chemical wash that involves removing the casing sits closer to that restriction than a filter rinse does.
No price is published for a visit once the year has run out. The repair form offers a quotation route, so the process exists while the figure does not appear on the site. Ask for the call-out charge and the diagnosis charge before booking, because on a single casement box those two numbers decide the repair-or-replace question on their own.
Cover stops at the border. These terms apply inside Singapore alone, and the laws of the Republic of Singapore govern them. The company also holds ultimate authority on final interpretation and on suggestions of settlement, which is the distributor stating inside its own document who decides a dispute.
