Aircon Fan Motor Repair

The fan motor drives airflow in both the indoor and outdoor units. If either fails, the cooling cycle breaks down: the indoor unit can't circulate air, or the outdoor unit can't shed heat. We check the capacitor and wiring first, because cheaper parts often mimic motor failure. For current rates, see the pricing page.

What Fan Motor Repair Covers

Diagnosis and repair of indoor or outdoor fan motor faults, after capacitor and wiring tests rule out cheaper causes. Common situations where fan motor work fits:

  • No air from the indoor unit

The unit powers on, but the cross-flow fan isn't moving air through the room.

  • Grinding, squealing, or rattling

Bearing wear or a failing motor makes noise before the fan stops completely.

  • Outdoor fan is not spinning

If the compressor's running without condenser airflow, the system overheats and trips.

When to Start Elsewhere

Airflow and noise symptoms come from other faults too. If the motor fault isn't confirmed, start with on-site inspection.

  • Weak airflow with the fan spinning normally

More likely a dirty evaporator coil or blocked filter than motor failure.

  • Unit is completely dead

Check power supply, breaker, fuse, or PCB before fan motor repair.

  • Fan runs but cooling is still poor

Check refrigerant, compressor, coil condition, or sensor control next, not the motor.

What We Check Before Repair

We work through the fan circuit before deciding the motor itself needs replacing.

  • Indoor or outdoor fault

Symptoms and direct inspection tell us whether the affected fan is inside the room unit or outside at the condenser.

  • Capacitor and wiring

A failed capacitor or loose connection mimics motor failure and is usually cheaper to resolve.

  • Motor windings and bearings

We check electrical resistance and mechanical roughness before quoting a full motor replacement.

  • Airflow verification

After the repair, we run the fan under load to confirm speed, noise, and airflow are stable.

What You Get

Airflow restored without replacing the motor unnecessarily.

  • Fault confirmed before parts

We check capacitor, wiring, bearings, and motor windings before quoting replacement.

  • Airflow restored

Indoor circulation or outdoor heat rejection back to normal operating condition.

  • Secondary damage reduced

We handle outdoor fan faults before repeated overheating puts the compressor at risk.

Not Sure What Failed?

If the fault is not confirmed yet, start with an on-site inspection before choosing a repair path.
