Inverter-module repair is usually sensible when the exact power stage is confirmed, the supported module or board assembly is available, and the compressor, fan, supply and cooling path remain healthy; an older system with a damaged compressor or several board faults needs a closer repair-versus-replacement comparison. Hitachi systems commonly have a service life of 10–15 years. For a system over 12 years, hitachi units can last well beyond 12 years with maintenance, but parts sourcing becomes the bottleneck.
